Love those Russian X-Ray Girls

Russian X-ray Girl Thrills Japanese Scientists

Here's the best part of the article:

During the test in Japan, Natasha was able to see that one of the patients had a prosthetic knee. Another patient had asymmetrically placed internal organs. Natasha easily diagnosed early stages of pregnancy and even a pathology of the fetus with a female patient. She diagnosed a rare undulating spinal curvature with a male patient. When Japanese doctors compared Natasha's drawing of the curvature with the X-ray photograph, they could see that the photo and the drawing were absolutely identical. When Natasha was finished with her seven patients, Japanese doctors could not help bursting into applause. However, it was only the first stage of the trial.

My Mom

I love this shot of my Mom with her friends. Even at that age, she's the tallest in the group. And she comes by it honestly. Love ya Mom, Rob

Den Den Town

A computer geeks dream, all the electronics and tech you could ever want or never need. And a place to get a cheap camera if you need it. Here's a Map if anyone needs one.

My pal, Rob needed directions, and since it's terrible to give written directions in japan. Like, "go down the street, and veer slightly to the left, then after about half a block, you'll see two possible lefts and a right, or two rights and a left. You should take the right most left, and cross under the tracks, then between the JR line and the Midosuji line, there's a set of stairs, go halfway up, then turn right, and right again. Once you've come to the second door on you left, look for a small half door on your right, but not until you find the water pipe.

So, I made him a map.

My Gang

Woo,
My friends have stopped by the site recently, and they are happy that I'm doing an Image Blog. These guys are all long time friends. We've been hanging out since University. When I came to Japan, I never thought that they would all come at the same time. I was so happy when they all came to see me... and Japan of course. This is the whole crew in a little montage. From left to right on the bottom half. Shel, Sam, C, Shel again, Aims, and Tuckles, then Sam once more. The "Sex Machine" is actually a Korean BBQ place. I've still never been. I gotta remember that.

Kabuki Corner

Across the street is a very famous Kabuki House. From this side it looks really tiny. But the whole building extend back about a block. Pretty much, it takes up the middle of the entire block, leaving the space around it for various shops and such. I haven't been in. When almost every native I speak to (Japanese person, that is) says that they have never been, or don't want to go, then it's really not an inspiration to go myself.

Introducing Mr. Roy O'Bannon

Mr. Roy O'Bannon...

I'd like to show everyone this picture of my great great great great great great great great grandfather. Though the history books don't record the events of his life, he was a bit of a galavanteer. Upon further reasearch I found that he was one of the early pioneers of The West. He had a habit of getting himself and his good friend in trouble, but again, because they weren't doing things that the U.S. Government would have considerd proper. Anyway, Roy is one of my new hero's, and I'm hoping to find more information about him in the future. If you have any information about him, any stories you run across, please forward them to me.

I'm a Finalist - Finally

Woo Hoo!
I got in as a finalist at Better Photos. I've been posting my photos there for about 6 months, and finally they chose a photo. It wasn't one I wanted to win. I think I've got better stuff than that. But, I'm super happy that they think that one of my regular pictures is good in their eyes.
Here's the location of the image if you wnat to see it.

I found some old friends doing new tricks recently. If you live in Seattle, and you love to laugh, and you don't know what was Up In Your Grill, then you MAY be able to redeem yourself, and go see Flaming Box Of Stuff's performance. Here's the URL, Erl. http://www.flamingboxofstuff.com/index.php

Mike's Monopoly

Mike Daisey is the most famous person I know. Most people go their whole life thinking "Wow, I met Michael J. Fox, a real live hollywood actor." But I know Mr. Mike Daisey, and he has a new show playing called Monopoly. If you check out his site at http://www.mikedaisey.com/ then you can find out where to witness his genius.

Rough Week

Without going into a lot of whiney details, this last week has sucked.

I had a panic about a situation at my phtography site http://jarimagery.exposuremanager.com/g/roberts_vision . You see, I have been choosing non-traditional image sizes. I do it because I want to enhance one particular area of the image, rather than using the plain image. Of course I choose that in the shot, so sometimes, in the area that I consider "outside" the main image I'll have something lame, like the corner of a building or whatever. Anyway, because I'd chosen these odd sizes, I thought the printer would keep it the same. Well, that's not the case, and I almost had a bunch of images "re-cropped" to fit the paper size that was being used. Thankfully, the folks that run Exposure Manager are a good crew and helped me fix it immediately.

I chased around town for four hours, carrying 40kilo of stuff, to find myself paying exorbitant amounts of money. Also, someone misinterpreted an e-mail I sent and chose not to talk to me for a week. Though I didn't have a clue as to what was going on, after sending an e-mail, I found out the grevious error I'd made. Now, I guess that didn't actually have anything to do with my terrible week, but I guess it could have been better, having had the usual e-mail banter.

Upon reflection, I would not repeat these past two weeks.

Being Nym

Being Nym
So, this blogger I found is realllllly funny, in the same way that those of you out there who know Alyssa Burrows, is. She has a great sense of fun, and must have a little bit of Kiwi in her, for her mouth is FILTHY. Which is totally funny.

Something on the Brain

Interesting images come together when you're not dating.

Blog Bug

I'm kinda getting into this flogging thing. I've been surfing other peoples flogs, and some of them are stupid and such, but that's because they don't talk about something I'm interested in. So that's my fault.

So, now I'm thinking I'll start finding folks who have similar interests, and attach them to me here. I found this one lady Ms Bees Knees. She's pretty cool, and she has a filthy mouth, and pretty eyes. I love that combination.

Anyway, I guess I'll try to write stuff here from now on. If you want to check out stuff I'm proud of, check out Robert's Photography Portfolio...

Two Too Many

Wen't out and found a new place in Osaka, called Soma (I think). Nice place for a bit of Hip-Hop style and such. Not exactly my scene, but when you're desperate for a bit of grooving, you take what you can get.
And this is the drink that put me over the edge...
